many people find themselves confused as the differences between escorts and prostitutes. The misunderstanding is only natural and is an easy one to make. Escorts are generally seen as legalized prostitutes. This is not true. Escorts have been known to provide sexual “services” to clients, but unlike prostitution, the sole purpose of their enterprise is not sex.
Prostitution Is All About Sex
While many people make a very poorly informed judgment of escorts and label them prostitutes, many escorts will argue differently. Prostitutes are men and women who generally advertise their services in public places and are solely employed for the purposes of copulation. Prostitution is also illegal and dangerous. STD’s among prostitutes is a very common occurrence and are wide spread in that community. Escorts are generally governed by the bi-laws of their individual companies and are usually required to use some form of protection if engaging in sexual activities and may be subject to random STD testing to ensure that they are not a risk to their clients.
Escorting is Both Legal and Ethical
The main difference between escorts and prostitutes is sex. While it is possible to get an escort to provide sex as a part of their services, the sole reason for many while employing an escort is not generally sex. Escorts make great dates that are readily available at any given time to accompany individuals to events such as weddings and business functions. If sex is desired an escort can be negotiated with and an arrangement can possibly be made to ensure that intercourse is had.
